I first visited Prague in 2005 as a part of my ATC training and lived there for a month. It was love at first sight – beautiful architecture, nice prices, excellent beer, good food and relaxed atmosphere. I have returned there a few more times – following photos are from May 2014.
As there are quite a few photos I’d like to share with you, please click on the first of the thumbnails and then browse, either by clicking on the arrows on the sides of the photos, or by using arrow keys on your keyboard.
River Vltava runs lazily through the city and provides some water entertainment – seeing the city from the river perspective using peadalos or peadlboats is a popular choice among tourists.
Tram network is extensive, cheap and reliable making it very popular – you can occasionaly even catch an old-time version of a tram

The Powder Tower (Prašna Brana) was built in late 15th century as one of the attractive city gates and was not meant to be used as a defensive structure. It got its name in 17th century, when it was used to store gunpowder.
Beautiful frescoes adorn the front of the ‘Storch House’, a building built in late 19th century and located at the corner of Old Town Square.

Astronomical clock at Old Town Square attracts thousands of visitors each full hour for its display. It gets really crowdy in a limited space available and in my opinion, it is not as spectacular event as the crowds would suggest. Check the video below the gallery and be a judge yourself.

Havel’s Market is one of the oldest in the city, dating back to 1232.
Standing proud above the city is the Petřin lookout tower – reminding a bit of the famous Eiffel tower, it’s not as big but provides nice views of the city. Be careful though as you have to walk quite a lot of stairs to get to the top and usually it is crammed with tourists and locals at the top.
